Flute Studio Information

The Boston Suzuki Flute Program

Since 1989 Kim has been actively studying Suzuki philosophy and teaching flute students using the Suzuki approach.  Her studio includes children ages 3 through adult.

All students in the studio participate in weekly private lessons and bi-weekly group classes. The beginning group classes give way to more a advanced flute ensembles, chamber music and flute choir. Students from Kim’s studio participate in area Youth Symphonies and Wind Ensembles, the Jr and Senior Massachusetts District and All-State festivals. Throughout the year there are opportunities to attend Suzuki workshops and Institutes. In 2003 the Western Massachusetts Flute Choir, comprised of middle and high school students from Kim’s Suzuki studio, was asked to represent the Northampton Community Music Center in a performance at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC.

About Kim

Kim Lorimier

Welcome to Boston Suzuki Flute. Let me tell you a little about myself.

I have been teaching Suzuki flute for over 20 years. I currently teach in Needham, Massachusetts a few miles outside of Boston. Until five years ago, we lived in Western Massachusetts and I had a large, well-developed studio comprised of students of all ages and playing from Suzuki books 1-10. We thought we were permanently settled into our community. But even the best laid plans can change. For medical reasons, our family needed to be closer to the Boston hospitals.
